A free co-working offer for freelancers, creatives, sole traders and home workers
So, it may not quite be the permanent fixed shared-office solution that we’d originally dreamed about for Yarm. But it’s the first step towards creating a co-working community that can build in the future.
So, for the first launch, Green Tree Co-working is going to be opening on Tuesday, 5th November and will run in Yarm every Tuesday morning, 9:30-12:30, at least until the end of March 2020 and hopefully beyond.
It’s made possible thanks to greentreeonline’s partnership with the Good Things Foundation and Google. Greentreeonline is a social enterprise that runs fully funded digital training, as well as offering consultancy in social media and web design.
With funding support from these partners, greentreeonline is opening a digital training hub for Yarm called ‘Make it Click‘. Every Tuesday morning we will be based in St Mary and St Romuald church hall at the southernmost end of Yarm high street. It’s a warm, light, newly renovated, accessible space with a brand new fully equipped kitchen.
‘Make It Click’ resources and training are open to absolutely everyone to come along and boost their digital skills whether you are looking for a job, want to improve your skills for your current job or role, or you’re running or starting your own business.
At the same time, the completely free sessions are open to any freelancer, business owner, sole trader, artist, maker, or consultant, who would like to work alongside ‘colleagues’, network, make friends, or just use a communal space where you don’t feel pressured to buy anything or vacate your table.
You can use free Chromebooks, printing, coffee, tea, cold drinks and wifi. There will be a donation box, and donations to help cover costs are invited, but there is no expectation and we want the co-working morning to be accessible to even the most cash-strapped of Yarm’s solo entrepreneurs.
The Make it Click digital resources and support are available of course and Victoria from greentreeonline will be on hand at each session to support you with social media, cloud storage, blogging, websites, or any other digital questions you may have.
If you do need consultancy support, whether it’s web design, marketing, bookkeeping, HR or something else, we will have resources, speakers and support available. The idea is that we will build up a useful network of local consultants that you can call on if you need to buy in some support for your business.
